If you’re into fitness and exercising, protein shakes are probably a staple of your diet. But let’s face it, eating the same thing nearly every day, no matter how good it tastes, can get pretty tiring. This begs the question — How can you have your protein powder and eat it too?

I’ve certainly seen my fair share of recipes that try to answer this question by cheating protein powder and baking it into cakes and muffins and such. Don’t do this. Trust me. They’re not meant to be heated and end up tasting like mud. But a no-bake dessert? Absolutely. So the next time you’re bored with the idea of yet another protein drink after a workout, opt for this tasty little pudding instead!

Now, go get your pump on and come back to try this:

Recipe:

1/4 cup milk of choice (recommended: cashew)
1/3 cup silken tofu (about 80 grams)
4-5 slices frozen banana
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
1-2 Tbsp cocoa powder (optional)

In a blender, combine first 3 ingredients to form a smooth base. Add protein powder and optional cocoa powder. Blend until pudding-like consistency forms. Spoon into cup and top with anything you like. Berries, chocolate chunks, coconut flakes, hemp hearts, nuts, dried fruit — go crazy with your bad swole self!
